Sydney based brand Sonna Tea reached out in need of a T-Shirt design that would be screen-print locally that could be sold as new merch at various pop-up events throughout the year. The owners were after a hand-drawn design that matched their existing character designs and colour palette, and three initial designs were delivered. A pair of characters designed after the business owners drinking tea, a characterful shopfront, a kitchen scene and a collage of matcha imagery made up the initial pitches, and the first round of feedback sought for the two scene illustrations to be combined to make one large image for the back of a tee. After lot of minor tweaks along the way, the final two-colour print design was delivered, containing a myriad of details including references to the sisters that owned Sonna, to easter eggs like their favourite plants and their cat mascot.
